Lyrics of Eminem – Stronger Than I Was
You used to say that I’d never be
Nothing without you and I’d believe
I’m shot in the lungs, I gasp, I can’t breathe
Just lay here with me, baby, hold me please
And I’d beg and I’d plead, drop to knees
And I’d cry and I’d scream, “Baby, please don’t leave”
Snatch the keys from your hand, I would squeeze
And you’d laugh, and you’d tease, you’re just fucking with me
And you must hate me
Why do you date me, if you say I make you sick?
And you’ve had enough of me
I smother you, I’m ’bout to jump off the edge
But you won’t break me, you’ll just make me stronger than I was
Before I met you, I bet you I’ll be just fine without you
And if I stumble, I won’t crumble, I’ll get back up and uhh
But I’mma still be humble when I scream “Fuck you”
Cause I’m stronger than I was
A beautiful face is all that you have
Cause on the inside you’re ugly and mad
But you’re all that I love, I grasp, you can’t leave
Please stay here with me, baby hold me please
And I’d beg and I plead, drop to knees
And I’d cry and I’d scream, baby, please don’t leave
But you left and you took everything I had left
And left nothing, nothing for me
So please don’t wake me from this dream, baby
We’re still together in my head
And you’re still in love with me
‘Til I woke up to discover that that dream was dead
But you won’t break me, you’ll just make me stronger than I was
Before I met you, I bet you I’ll be just fine without you
And if I stumble, I won’t crumble, I’ll get back up and uhh
But I’mma still be humble when I scream “Fuck you”
Cause I’m stronger than I was
You walked out, I almost died, it was almost a homicide
That you caused cause I was so traumatized
Felt like I was in for a long bus ride
I’d rather die than you not be by my side
Can’t count how many times I vomited, cried
Go to my room, turn the radio on and hide
Thought we were Bonnie and Clyde, nah
On the inside you were Jekyll and Hyde
I, felt like my, whole relationship with you was a lie
It was you and I, why did I think it was ride or die?
Cause if you coulda, took my life you woulda
It’s like you put a, knife through my chest
And pushed it right through to the, other side
Of my back and stuck a spike too, shoulda
Put up more of a fight, but I couldn’t
At the time, no one could hurt me like you coulda
Take you back now, what’s the likelihood of that?
Bite me bitch, chew on a nineteen footer
Cause this morning I finally stood up
Held my chin up, finally showed a sign
Of life in me for the, first time since you left me
And left me with nothing but shattered dreams
And the life we coulda, had and we could’ve been
But I’m breaking out of this slump I’m in
Pulling myself out of the dumps once again
I’m getting up once and for all, fuck this shit
I’ma be late for the pity party
But you’re never gonna beat me to the fucking punch again
Took it on the chin like a champ
So don’t lump me in with the chump-ions
I’m done being your punching bag
It was the November 31st today
Would’ve been our anniversary
Two years but you left on the 1st of May
I wrote it on a calendar, was gonna call
But couldn’t think of the words to say
But they came to me just now
So I put ’em in a verse to lay
And I thank you cause you made me a better person than I was
But I hate you cause you drained me, I gave you all, you gave me none
But if you blame me, you’re crazy and after all is said and done
I’m still angry, yeah, I may be, I may never trust someone
But you won’t break me, you’ll just make me stronger than I was
Before I met you, I bet you I’ll be just fine without you
And if I stumble, I won’t crumble, I’ll get back up and uhh
But I’mma still be humble when I scream “Fuck you”
Cause I’m stronger than I was

Eminem’s Profile
Marshall Bruce Mathers III (born October 17, 1972), known professionally as Eminem (/ˌɛmɪˈnɛm/; formerly stylized as EMINƎM), is an American rapper, songwriter, and record producer. Eminem is among the best-selling music artists of all time, with estimated worldwide sales of over 220 million records. He is credited with popularizing hip hop in Middle America and is critically acclaimed as one of the greatest rappers of all time.
Eminem’s debut
Eminem’s global success and acclaimed works are widely regarded as having broken racial barriers for the acceptance of white rappers in popular music. While much of his transgressive work during the early 2000s made him hugely controversial, he came to be a representation of popular angst of the American underclass. He has been influential for many artists of various genres. After his debut album Infinite (1996) and the extended play Slim Shady EP (1997), Eminem signed with Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment and subsequently achieved mainstream popularity in 1999 with The Slim Shady LP. His next two releases, The Marshall Mathers LP (2000) and The Eminem Show (2002), were worldwide successes and were both nominated for the Grammy Award for Album of the Year.
After the release of his next album, Encore (2004), Eminem went on hiatus in 2005, partly due to a prescription drug addiction. He returned to the music industry four years later with the release of Relapse (2009) and Recovery was released the following year. Recovery was the best-selling album worldwide of 2010, making it Eminem’s second album, after The Eminem Show in 2002, to be the best-selling album of the year worldwide. In the following years, he released the US number one albums The Marshall Mathers LP 2 (2013), Revival (2017), Kamikaze (2018) and Music to Be Murdered By (2020).
Eminem made his debut in the film industry with the musical drama film 8 Mile (2002), playing a fictionalized version of himself, and his track “Lose Yourself” from its soundtrack won the Academy Award for Best Original Song, making him the first hip hop artist ever to win the award. Eminem has made cameo appearances in the films The Wash (2001), Funny People (2009) and The Interview (2014) and the television series Entourage (2010). He has also developed other ventures, including Shady Records, a joint venture with manager Paul Rosenberg, which helped launch the careers of artists such as 50 Cent, Yelawolf and Obie Trice, among others. He has also established his own channel, Shade 45, on Sirius XM Radio. In addition to his solo career, Eminem was a member of the hip hop group D12. He is also known for collaborations with fellow Detroit-based rapper Royce da 5’9″; the two are collectively known as Bad Meets Evil.
He was the best-selling music artist in the United States of the 2000s and the best-selling male music artist in the United States of the 2010s, third overall. Billboard named him the “Artist of the Decade (2000–2009)”. The Marshall Mathers LP, The Eminem Show, “Lose Yourself”, “Love the Way You Lie” and “Not Afraid” have all been certified Diamond or higher by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Rolling Stone has included him in its lists of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time and the 100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time. He has won numerous awards, including 15 Grammy Awards, eight American Music Awards, 17 Billboard Music Awards, an Academy Award and an MTV Europe Music Global Icon Award. He has had ten number-one albums on the Billboard 200—which all consecutively debuted at number one on the chart, making him the first artist to achieve this—and five number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100.

In the same year, the rapper, along with manager Paul Rosenberg, founded the record label Shady Records.

With more than ten million copies sold, the album was the third best-selling record of the year in the United States.
In 2002, Eminem’s fourth album, The Eminem Show, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and reached the top spot on various charts internationally, as it went on to sell over nineteen million copies worldwide. In 2004, Eminem’s fifth studio album Encore became the rapper’s third consecutive studio album to reach number one in the United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. Sales, however, were significantly less than the two previous studio albums, with over five million sold copies in the United States and eleven million worldwide.] Eminem released a greatest hits album titled Curtain Call: The Hits in 2005, which sold almost three million copies in the US. The following year, Shady Records released Eminem Presents: The Re-Up, a compilation album performed by Eminem along with various artists from the record label. The album received a platinum certification from the RIAA in 2007 and sold slightly over a million copies in the United States.
After a hiatus of more than four years, Relapse, Eminem’s sixth studio album, was released in 2009 and was the rapper’s fourth consecutive studio album to top the charts in the United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom, with domestic sales of over two million copies. In the subsequent year, Eminem released his seventh studio album Recovery, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and internationally reached the top spot on various charts. According to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry, it was also the best-selling album of 2010 worldwide.
Eminem was named the best-selling artist in Canada in 2010 and 2013 when he released his eighth studio album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2. The album was followed by Revival in 2017. Both The Marshall Mathers LP2 and Revival reached the top spot of the Billboard 200 in their first week, thus making Eminem the first musical act to have eight entries in a row debut at its summit. On August 31, 2018, Eminem released his unannounced tenth studio album, Kamikaze, becoming his ninth consecutive album to debut at number 1. He followed this with a surprise album titled Music to Be Murdered By, on January 17, 2020, as well as a deluxe edition released on December 18, 2020, titled Music to Be Murdered By – Side B, which featured sixteen additional tracks.
